It’s time for our annual Stray Cat Strut – Saturday, June 18th. This is a great way to join fellow animal lovers and support animals in need. You won’t want to miss this year’s fun-run and walkathon which will take place near our new West Rogers Park location at Warren Park, 6601 N. Western Ave. (near the corner of Western and Pratt).
The Stray Cat Strut raises funds for special needs cats who can’t walk for themselves. There are a lot of ways for you to participate, and plenty of prizes available.
Walk for Tuxedo Mask
On the day before Valentine’s Day, a good samaritan brought two-year-old Tuxedo Mask to our door in a laundry basket. He was dirty, underweight, infested with fleas, and had a severely injured and infected right eye. Our clinic team began treatment immediately to stabilize him. He was closely monitored yet over the course of a few days, there was minimal improvement with his eye.
Ultimately we realized it was necessary to remove his eye. While preparing Tuxedo Mask for surgery, we also discovered a heart murmur. This poor guy couldn’t catch a break! Today, Tuxedo Mask is thriving. Looking at him now, you would never know that just a few months ago, he was outside in Chicago’s freezing winter temperatures, clinging to life. Tuxedo Mask was recently adopted into his forever home. His enthusiasm for life and yearning for love cannot be deterred, and we are so thrilled to have helped him recover and start a brand new life!
